Doomsday Game
Five players.
Survive for seven days.
Nanashi and Yukino were among the five participants. However, Yukino wasn't with him. She must have been teleported somewhere else.
Unexpectedly, the chat group was still active.
"So, the chat group works even here?"
Nanashi opened the interface.
[Chat Group]
Lemuel:"Oh! Another perfect order today."
March 7th:"Excalibur, are you the legendary workaholic?"
Lemuel:"Of course not. I just have a logistics commission. Etched bullets aren't cheap, you know. How else am I supposed to get paid?"
March 7th:"Uh… I feel like Penguin Logistics isn't exactly a 'legitimate' logistics company."
Lemuel:"Haha, you'd be surprised. On this land, even manufacturing companies have their own armed forces."
Aqua:"Nooo! I don't want to live this kind of miserable life! I want to go back to the God Realm!"
Saeko:"Can't a god just return to their own world?"
Aqua:"No! Once a wish has been granted, it can't be undone. I have to complete my mission first."
Saeko:"That's… a pretty strict rule."
Nanashi smirked at their chatter. So, they've already accepted the concept of the Doomsday Chat Group and even changed their names. Looks like they're getting along well.
Nanashi:"Seems like you've all settled in."
Aqua:"You bastard! Last time you called me a retarded goddess! How dare you insult the beautiful Goddess of Water! Apologize immediately!"
March 7th:"Whoa! It's the administrator! Tell me, how do you know me? Are you from my world? Have you heard of my name?"
Lemuel:"Oh? He seems to know me too."
Saeko:"Mr. Administrator appears to have some understanding of my situation as well."
Nanashi had expected this question. He already had an answer prepared.
Nanashi:"Just call me Nanashi. And don't ask too many questions—I only have a general idea."
Nanashi:"Rather than wasting time on nonsense, I'd rather share something interesting I encountered."
He gave them a brief rundown of the Doomsday Game he was trapped in.
March 7th:"What a terrifying game! If you lose, the world ends?!"
Saeko:"Is this how your world is fated to end, Nanashi?"
March 7th:"Yeah! What is the doomsday scenario for your world, Nanashi?"
Nanashi:"Three doomsdays—Cognition, Anomaly, and Uncertainty. All 12 stars."
The simple yet chilling answer left the chat in silence.
March 7th:"…"
Lemuel:"…"
Saeko:"This is…"
Aqua:"Hahaha! This is what you get for insulting the Goddess of Water! Kneel before me, and I shall grant you salvation!"
Nanashi's mouth twitched. This idiot…
Nanashi:"Save yourself first. Are you hungry right now?"
Aqua:"I'm starving! Ugh! Why do I have to work part-time as a goddess?!"
March 7th:"Suddenly, Nanashi's description of Aqua makes perfect sense."
Saeko:"Nanashi's world sounds like an absolute nightmare."
Lemuel:"What exactly does this Doomsday Game look like?"
Nanashi:"I'm still figuring that out. I'll investigate and let you know."
With that, he closed the chat group.
Nanashi stepped out of the classroom.
The world outside was a dilapidated school.
The hallways were filled with wandering figures. Slow, unsteady movements. An eerie stillness in their posture.
Something was off.
Nanashi observed closely—
Their clothing was torn, bodies riddled with wounds.
Rotting flesh.
Exposed bones.
Sunken, lifeless eyes.
They shuffled through the corridors like—
"Zombies."
A classic, low-tier mob in countless games.
"So, the objective is to survive for seven days in a school infested with zombies?"
The game designers had terrible taste.
If all five players failed, these zombies would be unleashed upon the real world.
Nanashi decided to test their strength.
Approaching the stairwell, he spotted a lone zombie.
Raising his palm—
A dark, crackling energy formed in his grasp.
Five-Elements Lightning-Dharma.
A surge of black lightning condensed in his palm.
With a flick of his wrist—
Zzzt!
A bolt of shadowy lightning shot forth.
It struck the zombie directly.
With its sluggish reaction speed, it had no chance of dodging.
Zzzt!
Thunder roared.
The zombie convulsed—its decayed flesh seared, its body stiffening before it collapsed into a charred husk.
"Too weak."
That barely took any effort.
At Physical Enhancement Level 2, Nanashi was confident he could take down a zombie with a single punch.
But this was just the beginning.
He needed to figure out what else this game had in store but before he could continue, a notification sounded in his ears.
[Ding! You have killed 1 zombie. +1 Doomsday Point!]
Nanashi's eyes lit up.
"So, this is the connection the Doomsday Chat mentioned?"
Killing zombies to earn points? That was an unexpectedly generous mechanic.
His fingers twitched with anticipation—he was tempted to rush out and start a massacre.
But first, he needed to find Yukino.
She had been chosen just like him.
Nanashi began searching, clearing out any zombies in his path.
