Chapter 34 - "A Sharp Hand Chop."

-----

-----

"Ow—!!" Shadow-Spider clutched her head as Jasper tossed her out of the bathroom by the collar. Did she really think he had no self-control?

Just because someone thinks about something doesn't mean they'll actually do it! Like, sure, he's thought about robbing a bank and never working another day in his life, but has he done it? Nope. Thoughts and actions are two totally different things!

After a quick cold shower, Jasper felt the heat in his body finally cool down. Ugh, what was that just now? It was like he went into heat or something. How the hell was he supposed to face Gwen Stacy tomorrow?

"Ugh! Damn it!" he muttered to himself.

Outside the bathroom, Shadow-Spider looked confused. She could feel that Jasper's mind had been full of desire, and yet… he hit her with a clean hand chop and threw her out without hesitation. Humans were seriously weird.

She got up and grabbed a book—she still wanted to understand Jasper better.

Meanwhile, Jasper, now freshly showered, went for a walk.

He wondered if Peter Parker was still at the party.

Eh, whatever. Jasper climbed up a building in no time, reaching the rooftop. He exhaled slowly as the cool breeze hit his face, calming him down.

Tomorrow's problems… are for tomorrow's me to deal with, he thought.

His mind finally settled.

A few moments later, he heard the distant wailing of police sirens. So much for a quiet night. Jasper started sprinting in the direction of the sirens.

Soon, the police cars stopped—right in front of two monsters.

One of them was the Hulk. The other was Abomination.

The two monsters locked eyes. And then, without warning, they lunged at each other.

Walls and high-rises crumbled like they were made of paper.

Just a light touch and boom—rubble everywhere.

Perched on a tall building, Jasper watched the chaos unfold. He had zero plans to get involved. The Hulk should have no problem handling Abomination.

"Go, Hulk~!" he cheered casually.

Boom! The Hulk landed a solid punch that sent Abomination flying, roaring as he charged forward. But in the next second, Abomination countered with a powerful kick, launching the Hulk toward the building where Jasper was standing.

Jasper hopped lightly to the side, dodging the incoming green projectile.

The Hulk crashed into the spot where Jasper had just been, leaving a giant crater behind.

"Man, that was close. Tossing trash around like that—someone could get hurt," Jasper muttered under his breath.

But Abomination heard him.

Even though Jasper had spoken quietly, Abomination's enhanced senses picked it up. Did that little fly just insult me?

Enraged, Abomination ripped a chunk of wall from a nearby building and hurled it straight at Jasper.

Jasper: "…Seriously?"

He clenched his fist. Purple electricity crackled around it.

Then he punched the flying wall.

BOOM!!!In an instant, the wall exploded into dust under the sheer force of his punch.

Landing lightly on the edge of the rooftop, Jasper tilted his head and said, "Damn, you're ugly~! Can't even take a bit of honest criticism?"

He shook his hand, the electricity fading. Since Abomination's real fight was with Hulk, Jasper turned to leave. No way he was wasting energy fighting that guy.

"ROAR!!!" Abomination bellowed and suddenly appeared behind Jasper in a flash.

Jasper sighed in frustration.

Abomination's massive fists came crashing down.

"So annoying," Jasper grumbled as he dodged and threw a quick uppercut to Abomination's chin.

The massive beast was lifted clean off the ground—punched into the air by a teenager.

What the hell…? Abomination felt a surge of brute strength from Jasper's punch—on par with the Hulk's.

Who is this kid??

Jasper calmly straightened out his clothes and said, "Good luck with that!" Then, without another word, he made a swift exit.

Abomination tried to chase him, but the Hulk tackled him and slammed him to the ground.

With the Hulk's overwhelming strength, Abomination couldn't break free—at least not right away. As soon as the Hulk let up just a little, Abomination struck back hard—grabbing Hulk's head and smashing it with a brutal knee, then yanking a rooftop water tank and smashing it over him.

From far away—

"Wow~! Now that's a fight," Jasper commented, watching the scene unfold. It was too far for normal people to see clearly, but not for Jasper—his eyesight was razor sharp.

A few minutes later, the fight was over.

Abomination collapsed, exhausted. Hulk slowly turned and leaped away, leaving the area.

So he's gone, huh… Jasper thought, turning around—only to spot someone very familiar.

"Good evening!" he said to Black Widow as he prepared to leave.

She looked at him and said, "If you'd helped out back there, the Hulk probably would've had a much easier time."

Jasper tilted his head, looking genuinely confused. "Why should I help? That's not my responsibility, is it?

"Besides, weren't these monsters your mess to begin with? And now you expect a high school kid to clean it up? That's hilarious.

"What's the point? Just trying to prove how useless you guys are?

"Whatever. I'm not in the mood to argue. I'm heading home. Later!"

With that, Jasper jumped off the rooftop.

Black Widow walked to the edge and watched him go. He's way more sarcastic than I expected… Is he really just a high schooler?

Back at home, Jasper washed up and went straight to bed.

Next Morning

As soon as Jasper got to school, he went straight to Gwen Stacy.

"Sorry about last night," he said quickly. "I went way too far. I shouldn't have done that."

Gwen looked at him and said, "Let's just forget about it. Anyway, we've got gym class today—what should we do?"

She walked past him without another word.

But as she walked, Gwen reached up and gently touched her lips. The feeling from last night… it was still vivid. And kind of addictive.

Jasper watched her leave. Her attitude toward him had definitely changed. I really hope she doesn't hate me now…

He didn't want to be hated. But after what he did, how could she not be mad?

Jasper sighed and went back to his seat.

Out on the track, Annie was jogging. She noticed Jasper looking her way and waved.

He waved back with a smile, feeling a little lighter.

"Wooo~! Look at that boyfriend-girlfriend moment!" Michelle Jones teased as she walked up beside Jasper. Her voice turned a lot of heads.

Gwen glanced over at the girl on the field, who was smiling brightly.

She was beautiful—so beautiful it was hard to look away.

So that's Jasper's girlfriend, Gwen thought, turning her eyes away. Something about it made her feel… irritated.

"Come on, don't say stuff like that," Jasper said helplessly.

Michelle just smiled. She knew Jasper and Annie were only pretending to be a couple.

She gave Jasper a playful pat on the shoulder and whispered, "Wanna show me around tonight?"

"....."
