Chapter 10 - RETURNED TO RED MOON PACK

"How could you hire a shifter?" Jaxon closed his eyes, but from the sound of his voice, it was obvious that his mind was still sharp. The headache was slowly subsided.

"I didn't know she was a shifter until she was here. I only realized it when I saw her," Jace said, but he added. "But, there is something wrong with her. I know she is a shifter, yet I couldn't feel her wolf spirit, it's so faint, even an omega wouldn't have such faint presence of wolf spirit."

Jaxon didn't say anything for long and when Jack thought he had fallen asleep and was about to leave, he heard the alpha talked to him with his clear voice.

"Don't let her step inside this house again."

"Yes, alpha."

After Fenja returned from Red Moon pack house, she was worried that she would get a bad review and was kicked out from her job, since she didn't finish her work that day.

However, there was nothing happened, there was no complain or whatsoever.

Fenja almost forgot about the incident when two weeks later she got the same order to clean Red Moon pack house again.

"Can you send someone else?" Fenja asked, because she felt uncomfortable to return to that house again. The alpha clearly didn't like her.

"Can't. The client specifically wanted you."

"Really?" It was a surprised for her.

"Yes. They wanted you to come this afternoon. They paid double for your service, since I said you have to go to different address." Dan nodded his head. "I think they like your job the last time."

Fenja's mind was still reeling with this revelation when Dan handed her the address. "Here, just in case you forgot the address. Go now and do your job well."

Dan was in a good mood, since he got double the price.

"Okay." Fenja still couldn't wrap her mind in this news, but she still had to go to Red Moon pack house.

He took the same public transportation. It was not difficult to find this house for the second time.

She pressed the bell and the same old man's voice greeted her. The gates were opened, but this time, there was a car that had been waiting for her, so she didn't need to walk for twenty minutes to reach the main house.

This treatment was very shocking, Fenja didn't expect this after the last time she was here, especially with the way how alpha Jaxon was really agitated to see her for some reason.

When Fenja reached the main house, she met with the same old man, but this time, his expression was not only stern, he looked like he was having a difficult time.

He gave her the same instruction with additional warning.

"If the alpha is pestering you, you need to call me right away," he said firmly.

"But, I don't have a phone." Fenja didn't feel the need to buy herself a phone, there was no one for her to call after all.

"Figure." Jack fished out something from his pocket and handed it to Fenja. "For you." He had asked her number before but the they said she didn't have one.

Fenja furrowed her brows, she held the phone and then looked at him questioningly. "Why did you give me a phone?"

"Return it after your job is done."

"Oh." Fenja bit her tongue, feeling slightly embarrassed to get ahead of herself.

"There is only one number, my number. If you saw the alpha, call me right away."

"Why should I…"

"No question. Now, do your job."

Fenja started to realize that this man was so cut and dry. He only said what he needed to say. Was he the beta? But, he was too old to be one. "Okay."

The hierarchy in every pack was the same, but Fenja was not sure who was the beta and gamma of this pack, since she only saw this man here.

But in the end, she couldn't care less about it. Her assignment was the same. Only this floor, never went to the second or the third floor.

Thankfully, Fenja finished the two rooms without trouble, she didn't see the alpha as well and that cigar and cinnamon's scent disappeared as well. Did he go out?

"Can you cook?" Jack asked after Fenja was done with her job. It was already dark outside.

"Yes, I can." Fenja liked cooking, she used to spend most of her time in the kitchen, trying new recipe. The people in her pack like it. She was confident with her cooking skill.

"Now, I want you to cook these dishes. This will be your last task and after that you can go home." Jack handed her a paper, where there was a long list of dishes that she had to cook. "All the ingredients are on the fridge, if you can't find something that you need, you can call me." He nodded at Fenja's pocket, where she kept the phone. "Once you were done, put the phone on the counter and just leave."

"Okay."

Jack left, but before that, he turned around and told her something that made Fenja very happy. "You can cook something for you to take home."

Fenja's eyes lit up. "Thank you!" In this case, she could save up her meal money. Every penny was important when you broke.

After Jack left, Fenja hummed and immediately opened the big fridges there, where she could find everything she needed and many more.

"Heaven!" she exclaimed, astounded. "Even the pack house's fridges are not as complete as this one!"

Oh, she liked this job!

But not until she found the secret that laid in this pack house.

"Stop bothering me, Nadia!" Shayne snapped at her, he turned around and then growled at the woman, which only made her tear up.

Shayne became very frustrated, especially when his mother got involved and chided him for being so mean to Nadia.

"Why can't you forgive me? I am sorry…"
