Before Lilah was pushed down from her window...
At that time, there was a man who had not announced his presence in the area. Rather than in the area, he was already in the proximity of their house and was standing in between the bushes at the side of the house.
The reason why he decided to stand there instead of go in as the esteemed guest he was, was because he caught the prude smell of a vampire and wanted to confirm the relationship between this family and that of the vampires.
The reason he was here was because he had a debt to pay. He was indebted to one of the going masters of this family, which had a long history in this country.
He heard from his people that this young master had a sister that he cherished a lot and she was hosting her birthday party on this day.
So, he decided to grace the venue with his presence.
Having someone like him in attendance not only boosted their family's worth but also added importance to the host, who was the young master's sister.
But on his way there, his lazy secretary decided to inform him that the Andersons had more than one daughter, and they were both celebrating on this day. He did not give any more details as to which was the beloved one, so he got a little troubled.
Which of them was his beloved sister?
How would he know which of them to approach?
He simply needed to show his favor but it had gotten a bit complicated.
'I swear I need to cut his goddamn paycheck.' He thought, gnashing his teeth.
But then, it got even more complicated when he got the whiff of the vampire.
He did a background check on this family, so he knew that he had no connection to the vampires, and that was why he decided to support them from now on, but what's this?
Why was there a vampire in the house?
'Is the vampire also indebted to them like I am?' he wondered but could not come to a conclusion, so he decided to wait it out.
He wouldn't be able to figure out their intentions if he suddenly barged in and interrupted them.
After the vampire left, he would confront the family and hear what they had to say.
Of course, they had no obligation to tell him anything. He could simply withdraw his intentions to support them.
After all, the people who were involved with the vampires all fit into at least one of these categories: dishonest, greedy, cruel, violent, and disloyal.
He could not work with people like that.
So there he stood, in between the well-trimmed bushes that had wild wallflowers growing around them.
For wildflowers, they made quite the sight. It was probably because they were this good to look at that the gardener didn't trim them off while trimming the bushes.
Above him was a window. Subconsciously, he stared, as if waiting for something, and then he saw something. Someone, rather.
Skin as white as snow, a delicate and pretty appearance, black wavy hair with beautiful locks that rested beautifully on her shoulders.
'Who is she?' He wondered.
For a moment, it was as if his breath was caught. He watched her hair dance lightly, blowing against her face and then she swiped it gently behind her ear.
His heart raced over the small gesture. He was unable to tear his gaze away from her and was unable to understand why his heart was beating so weirdly either. It was beating hard but light at the same time.
It was as if his heart had been surrounded by such a warm light that he was starting to feel something he had never felt before.
Two words suddenly came to mind and before he knew it, they slipped out of his lips.
"Delicate flower."
She was a delicate flower that could easily be blown away by the wind. A flower that could wither if exposed to the sun for too long and drown if left in the rain.
A flower that needed protection.
'Why am I having such thoughts?'
He was not someone in the position to entertain such simple thoughts. Such thoughts could only be found in the heads of his lazy secretary and his jobless assistant.
He has never once looked at a woman this way, so why now?
And a resident of this household, no doubt.
But if they had such a flower in this country, wouldn't there have been news across the country?
Or was she being sheltered?
Then, could she be the adored daughter?
But what would she be doing in her room when the party wasn't over yet?
This man was yet to realize that the party had ended earlier on.
Then, was she the other daughter? The one most people did not pay attn to? It would make sense but he just couldn't imagine how someone would take a look at her and ignore her.
If it were him... If it were him...
He would definitely take care of her to the best of his abilities and make sure she never lacked anything.
As this thought crossed his mind, he realized he was being swayed.
Was this witchcraft? He didn't understand why he would have such thoughts about someone he just saw for the first time.
'I'll have to ask Tyler about this.' he thought and then looked up, but she was gone.
He had only reluctantly torn his gaze away from her for a brief moment to calm his nerves, so how could she be gone already?
How unfortunate.
He missed her already.
He wanted to gaze at her a little longer.
But since she had gone inside, he had to focus on his business. Maybe... If he met the family, he would meet her.
As he turned away, he saw a shadow above him, but by the time he looked up, she had already crashed on him, taking him by surprise and causing him to lose his balance, so he fell.
