Chapter 27 - ## Chapter 27: Blade

## Chapter 27: Blade

Dressed in a black leather trench coat, with a medieval-style longsword strapped to his back, the large black man wore wide sunglasses that covered most of his cold face.

"Eric Brooks, they all call me Blade. Father Declerck sent me to assist you!"

His voice was low and cold, his expression so indifferent it seemed to ward off strangers.

Tang Song could tell from the black man's stance that he could draw the greatsword from his back at the fastest speed.

A combat expert, Tang Song silently commented in his mind.

Blade? Tang Song swept his Divine Sense over the black man before him. On him, Tang Song detected a fluctuation similar to that of a vampire.

"Blade the Daywalker? I've heard your name!"

Tang Song finished feeding all the fishing bait in his hand, took a towel from a servant standing nearby, wiped his hands, and examined the black man.

Blade the Daywalker, this name was quite famous in the Underworld.

Vampires in the Underworld were divided into several special groups based on how they were formed.

The most widespread type was said to be the descendants of Cain, supernatural creatures cursed by God. They could survive for a long time by drinking the blood of humans or other creatures, and humans bitten by them would also turn into their kindred.

However, their weaknesses were obvious: they detested holy objects (such as crosses and holy water) and were extremely afraid of sunlight, as it could turn them into ash.

The strength of these vampires also increased year by year with age. It was said that the strength of their ancestor, Cain, could even rival a lord of Hell.

There were even legends that Cain's true body was currently in Hell, having become the master of a certain layer of Hell.

The truth of these legends remained to be verified, but some ancients among these vampires were truly terrifying existences.

These old fellows sleeping in unknown ancient castles in Europe were one of the reasons humans and others signed the Treaty of Coexistence.

Otherwise, given the exclusivity of humans, these dark creatures would have no power to fight back against organized firearms strikes from humans.

However, no matter how powerful vampires were, they still had their weaknesses. God's curse prevented these vampires from touching sunlight.

They could only hide in the darkness during the day, shrinking in cold coffins, and only come out at night to hunt and move.

Of course, there were exceptions. Some mutated species among vampires, for unknown reasons, were immune to the damage of sunlight and could live in daylight.

These vampires were called Daywalkers.

Daywalkers were extremely rare among the Vampire Clan, with one appearing only every few hundred years. Blade was the only known Daywalker in the Underworld.

Tang Song truly hadn't expected that a half-human, half-vampire being would also be a monster hunter for The Church.

The Church's influence in the Underworld was indeed considerable.

"Since Father Declerck sent you to assist me, how much do you know about the dark creatures in New York?"

Tang Song reached out, signaling Blade to sit down, and inquired.

Blade did not sit but leaned against a pillar of the pavilion, pursing his thick lips.

"The dark creatures in New York are mainly two groups: werewolves and vampires.

Their numbers are the largest, and their reproduction speed is the fastest. If it weren't for the restriction of the Treaty of Coexistence, with the vampires' embrace ability, the number of dark creatures in New York would at least double by now.

Their weaknesses are fear of silver and fear of sunlight!"

Blade touched the silver-plated greatsword on his back and said coldly, "To deal with them, you can choose to cut off their heads with a sword, or insert a wooden stake into their hearts!"

Blade's tone carried undisguised hatred.

When his mother was pregnant and about to give birth, she was bitten by a vampire, which made him a hybrid, half-human and half-vampire. Blade had been searching for that vampire all these years, which was also why he had been hunting vampires.

Tang Song interrupted Blade at this point, beckoning towards the German Men standing aside. When he came closer, Tang Song instructed:

"I remember there's still a batch of silver-plated bullets in the Armory. Distribute them to Frank's gunmen. Also, get another 5000 rounds of steel-core bullets, all silver-plated! Tell Frank to select 50 good men; they need to be used before tonight!"

"Yes, Boss!" The bodyguard left to convey Tang Song's order.

Tang Song signaled to Blade, "Excuse me, please continue!"

Looking at Tang Song's capitalist style, Blade frowned but said nothing, continuing to tell Tang Song about the dark creatures in New York.

"Besides werewolves and vampires, New York also has some dark wizards and some demons and half-demons hidden in New York.

Their numbers are small, but they are very difficult to deal with. These guys have always wanted to open a passage between the Hell Dimension and the Human World.

But because of the existence of the Church and the New York Sanctum, they can only hide in the Sewer like rats!"

"These things are usually monitored by The Church and suppressed by the Sanctum, so normally nothing happens. But once there is turmoil in the Underworld, they will definitely take the opportunity to cause trouble. Once they succeed, and powerful hell creatures break into the Human World, it will be a disaster for the Human World."

Blade's words were full of worry and concern.

"You said demons breaking out from Hell, can they withstand a nuclear bomb?"

Tang Song's question made Blade pause, his eyes under the sunglasses momentarily dazed.

Nuclear bombs, demons, two things that didn't go together at all, how could they be compared?

Bombing demons with nuclear bombs? No one had ever tried that.

Confused by Tang Song's thought process, Blade pursed his lips, somewhat self-doubtfully said:

"Shouldn't be possible, right?!"

...

"You're letting him deal with that group of vampires?"

Blade looked at Frank, who had rushed over, his face filled with doubt.

"The strength and speed of vampires exceed ordinary humans. Although Deacon Frost is just a newborn vampire exiled to America 300 years ago.

His strength is not weak; it even exceeds some ordinary counts in Europe!"

Blade's words carried advice, "Ordinary people facing them can only die. Since you were favored by Father Declerck, you must have supernatural power."

Frank was so angered by Blade's pitying words he was practically fuming.

He strongly suppressed the urge to pull out the ballistic knife from his waist.

"Vampires, I haven't killed these things before? During this time, I've killed at least one or two hundred vampires, and I haven't seen them as powerful as you say!"

Frank stared at Blade and mocked, "As long as it's a flesh and blood creature, there isn't one that can't be solved with one shot. If there is, then just add another shot."

"You only killed some low-level vampires without even a title/rank, or even blood slaves,"

Blade crossed his arms and glanced sideways at Frank.

"True vampires, their strength, speed, and reaction nerves are at least two or three times that of ordinary people. Facing them, ordinary people don't even have a chance to shoot!"
