Later, the police did come. After Professor Oak explained the situation to them, Officer Jenny indicated that the police would help them ensure safety in the surrounding area. This way, this summer camp could proceed peacefully. Because Ash defeated Fearow, the Fearow did not appear in the vicinity again.

Professor Oak followed the regular procedure for the summer camp activities, leading the children to search for Pokémon in the wild while explaining knowledge about Pokémon and trainers. Although he was with a group of children, Ash still felt very fulfilled. This world was completely different from his previous one; there was no such great pressure. Becoming a trainer meant he could confidently pursue his dreams, unlike the nine-to-five grind of his past world. The few days of summer camp allowed Ash to forget his past life and slowly integrate into this world.

A week passed quickly. In seven days, all the children saw and learned many things. Although many of the children didn't know each other and came from different places, they still formed deep friendships. But eventually, there came a time to say goodbye. On the evening of the last day, Professor Oak took everyone back to the entrance of the Pallet Town Research Lab. Many of the children's parents had been waiting for a long time. After greeting Professor Oak, they took their children and left. The departing children waved goodbye to the other children while recounting their experiences of the past few days to their parents.

At this moment, a little girl was not very happy. Her golden hair, adorned with a cute pink bow, hung low, covering her reluctant expression. This little girl was naturally Serena. From initially resisting participation, to later experiencing such thrilling events, and then the few days of getting along, she was no longer afraid of Pokémon. And during these few days, she got along best with Ash. For a girl like Serena, who had never traveled far from home and didn't have many friends, Ash was her first friend. Moreover, Ash appeared when she was in danger and protected her when she was attacked, causing her to develop different feelings for Ash in her heart. But she hadn't expected to be separated so quickly.

"Hey!!"

Serena, who was looking down, suddenly felt something pressing on her head. Startled, she quickly looked up. As soon as she looked up, she saw a smiling face as bright as sunlight, with one hand gently pressing on her head, placing a delicate straw hat on her head.

"This is yours, right?" Serena also noticed. Wasn't this her straw hat? It had fallen off when they were attacked that day. The situation was too dangerous at the time, and she didn't have time to look for it. Besides, it was just a straw hat, and she didn't want to trouble anyone. She also didn't dare to go back and look for it herself, so she simply forgot about it.

"Ash… Ash!" Looking at Ash who helped her find her straw hat, Serena couldn't help but get teary-eyed.

"I saw it when I entered the jungle the day before yesterday and just picked it up. You look very good wearing a hat!" "Sob sob sob!!" Hearing Ash's words, Serena couldn't bear it and directly pounced into Ash's arms, crying loudly.

"Will… will I never see Ash again?" she said, sobbing through her tears.

"Hmm…" Ash paused slightly. Did I… inadvertently flirt with a girl? For a moment, he didn't know what to do. Although he wasn't as emotionally unintelligent as the original Ash. But even though they were both the same age physically, the other party was still a seven-year-old girl, while his soul was that of an adult. If his body wasn't still that of a child, shouldn't he be shot? But listening to her tear-streaked face, he felt a little unbearable…

Serena was only focused on crying now, unaware of what Ash was thinking. Seeing Ash silent, Serena also tried hard to control her emotions, secretly thinking, Am I bothering Ash? Just as she was about to let go, "Serena, your hometown is the Kalos region, right?" Just as she was about to let go, she heard Ash's gentle voice in her ear.

Serena trembled slightly at the sound, still with a tearful, childlike voice, she softly responded. "Mhm~"

"If I become a trainer in the future, I also want to visit the Kalos region. So… so we'll definitely meet again." Ash said, placing his hands on Serena's shoulders, pushing her out of his embrace, and speaking seriously as their eyes met. This girl was from a region he didn't know, and he genuinely looked forward to visiting that region. So, he absolutely wasn't just coaxing a child.

"Really? Will Ash really come??" Hearing Ash's words, Serena cried tears of joy. She asked expectantly, gently wiping away her tears with her fingers.

"Of course!"

"Then Ash, if you come to Kalos, you must remember to find me in Vaniville Town. It's a promise!" Hearing Ash's affirmative response, Serena finally felt less sad. She happily extended her pinky finger. "Mhm! It's a promise." Ash smiled at this. He didn't find it childish. A promise was a sacred thing; if you couldn't keep it, you shouldn't make it lightly. Perhaps you think it's nothing, but the other person might remember it for a lifetime. Under the twilight sun, the two children's pinky fingers were tightly hooked together.

"Then… I'll be going first!" After letting go, Ash spoke first.

"Mhm! Ash, take care. I believe you will definitely become an amazing trainer."

"Thank you, you take care too."

After bidding farewell, Ash turned and left. He waved goodbye to Serena with his back to her. Serena didn't know if Ash could see her, but she waved goodbye to Ash's retreating figure.

"Emmmmm! Is that little boy… Serena's little boyfriend?" At this moment, a voice suddenly came from beside her, startling Serena. Behind her, a woman with neat short hair had her hand resting on her eyes, as if gazing at the distant Ash, then lowered her head to look at Serena and teased her.

"Mom?! You… what are you saying? That's not true!" Hearing this, Serena's heart couldn't help but race, and her smiling face immediately turned bright red.

"Haha! It seems this summer camp had a good harvest! Let's go, it's time to go home." The woman was Serena's mother, Grace. She brought Serena to this summer camp mainly hoping to let her interact with others. Besides helping her overcome her fear of Pokémon, she also hoped she would communicate more and make friends. It seemed the harvest was quite good.
